Three Actors Promoted to Series Regular for The Walking Dead Season 4!

——–POSSIBLE SPOILERS ALERT————

First off, I want to tell you guys that I am very VERY disappointed with The Walking Dead Season 3 Finale, specifically because of Andrea’s death, someone who is still alive in the comic book as of writing!  I LOVE Comic Andrea and I was very disappointed with what they did to her in the series.  I just have to accept the fact that the TV show is in a parallel universe with the comic book.

Anyway, let’s get on with the casting news.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, three characters in AMC’s The Walking Dead have been promoted to series regular.

Walking Dead Tyrese Sasha Beth - H 2013

New additions Chad Coleman (Tyreese), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) and Emily Kinney (Beth) will rejoin the series full time when The Walking Deadreturns in October, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. They join David Morrissey (The Governor) as regulars on the series, which will start off next season at the newly repopulated prison.

Yes, we will get to see more of Tyreese (who is also a key character in the comics) and her sister Sasha (TV-made), as well as Beth Greene!  I think they will make both Beth and Sasha more badass characters in season 4!

In addition, THR also reported that Melissa Ponzio — who plays Karen, the lone survivor of the Governor’s attack in the finale — will return to the series as a recurring guest star in season four.

Interestingly, Scott Wilson and Melissa McBride, who play Herschel Greene and Carol respectively are still recurring guest stars on the show despite being on the show longer than the promoted ones above.  We just have to wait and see if they will get the promotion before Season 4 starts.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC in October with new showrunner Scott M. Gimple.
