Amber Holcomb – A Moment Like This [American Idol 12 Top 10]

Amber Holcomb did a very good job!  Her performance was beautiful!

Candice Glover – Ordinary People [American Idol 12 Semi Finals]

Definitely she is one of my favorites this year. Aside from the fact that she can slay any song, she is also a friend of Jessica Sanchez! I think they share the same Filipino vocal coach!

Watch this as Candice puts her own spin to a John Legend classic.

55th Annual GRAMMY Awards Nominees [List]

Image

It’s almost a Sausage Fest at the Grammys!  Kanye West, fun., Mumford and Sons, Frank Ocean, and Jay-Z all lead the 2013 Grammy Nomination with six each, while Miguel and The Black Keys follow with 5 nominations each.

Of all the top nominees, Frank Ocean is the clear R&B standout of the year (Read my Album Review for channel Orange HERE).  Ocean is nominated for Best New Artist, Record of the Year (“Thinkin Bout You”), Album of the Year (“channel Orange”), Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Rap Sung Collaboration (with Kanye West and Jay-Z on “No Church in the Wild”) and Best Short Form Music Video (for “No Church in the Wild”).

Don’t fret ladies, the female artists also scored a bunch of nominations as well.  Leading the girl-power pack are Kelly Clarkson with four nods, Taylor Swift with three, and hot newcomer Carly Rae Jepsen who received two nominations.

I was particularly excited for the Best New Artist category because there were A LOT of up and coming artists this year.  To my disappointment, the likes of Mumford and Sons, Gotye, OneDirection, Ed Sheeran, and even Carly Rae Jepsen were all snubbed.  In place of them are Alabama Shakes, fun., Hunter Hayes, The Lumineers and Frank Ocean.  I know all of them except Alabama Shakes.
