My Favourite Films Of 2015

I must say, 2015 was the year of the Sci-Fi movies—may it be as horrible as Jupiter Ascending, Terminator Genisys, or The Fantastic Four, or as entertaining as The Avengers: Age Of Ultron or Chappie, or as monumental as the comeback of the Star Wars Saga or the end of The Hunger Games franchise—several movies of this genre reigned supreme in what may be a fantastic year in film.

Let’s take a moment as we remember some of the most notable people who touched us with their talent, who have passed away in 2013.

 

James Avery

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star James Avery (Uncle Phil) died from compications died from complications from open heart surgery in Glendale, Calif. on New Year’s Eve. He was 68.

 

 

Lou Reed

Lewis Allan “Lou” Reed is was one of the most influential singers and songwriters of our time and the lead vocalist of the iconic 1960’s group The Velvet Underground died October 27. He was 71.

 

 

Tom Clancy

The best-selling author Tom Clancy died Tuesday, Oct. 1 in a Baltimore hospital. He was 66.  Many of his novels had been turned into films, as well as video games.  Paramount is set to release Jack Ryan: Shadow One, a movie that is based on one of Clancy’s beloved characters.  The said movie is one to watch out for in 2014.

 

 

James Gandolfini

James Joseph Gandolfini Jr. who made his mark on television history as the troubled mafia boss Tony Soprano on HBO’s smash drama The Sopranos, died Monday, June 19, of an apparent heart attack. He was 51.

 

Peter O’ Toole

During a career that spanned nearly six decades, Hollywood legend Peter O’Toole received Oscar nominations for his performances in Becket (1964), The Lion in Winter (1968), Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1969), The Ruling Class (1972), The Stunt Man (1980), My Favorite Year (1982) and Venus (2006).  His most memorable performance was when he played the role of officer T.E. Lawrence in the 1962 epic masterpiece Lawrence of Arabia.  He died December 14 at the age of 81 after suffering from a long illness.

 

Paul Walker

Paul William Walker IV became famous for his role in the Fast And The Furious franchise.  He left us Saturday, Nov. 30, in a car accident in Valencia, Calif. He was 40.  He was supposed to reprise his role as Brian O’Conner for the seventh installment of Fast and Furious.

 

Cory Monteith

’Glee’ star Cory Montieth was found dead at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, he was 31. The findings concluded that Monteith “died of mixed drug toxicity, involving intravenous heroin use combined with the ingestion of alcohol.”
